Iran-Armenia joint production ‘Yeva’ is to start screening in Armenian language.

Directed by Anahid Abad, the movie that had started screening with Persian dubbing, will be screened in the main language in some of the screening slots.

The film is a war-themed story about a young woman who is forced to flee Yerevan with her daughter Nareh. She is suspected of murdering her husband.

The flick represented Armenia at the 90th edition of the Academy Awards.

The film has attended various global festivals and succeeded to grab several awards, including the best feature film at the 2018 Arpa Int’l Film Festival in the US, best film award at the 14th Rolan - International Film Festival for Children and Youth in Armenia, best screenplay award at the 15th Golden Apricot Yerevan International Film Festival in Armenia, and audience award at the 12th Pomegranate Film Festival in Canada.

In March 2019, ‘Yeva’ won the Grand Prix at the Socially Relevant Film Festival in the US.
