The 12th edition of the Ecozine Film Festival in Spain has scheduled to screen a lineup of five Iranian films.
A highlight among the lineup is ‘Karun’ by Mohammad Ehsani. It is a documentary about the largest Iranian river, Karun, which is at risk of destruction due to climate change, water transfer plans, and dumping sewage.
The lineup also features a short film titled ‘Fishnet and the Fish’ by Ali Nikfar as well as three short animations, including ‘The Last Fish’ by Seyyed-Mahmoud Saemin, ‘On the Cover’ by Yeganeh Moqaddam, and ‘The Last Eagle’ by Reza Golchin.
To be launched on Friday in the Spanish city of Zaragoza, the Ecozine is an international event dedicated to movies on the environment.
It will celebrate its 12h edition on May 3-19, 2019. This 12th edition embraces a diversity of themes focused on the environment, with cinema as an art for change and social transformation.
The event has five categories in its Official Competitive Section, with five prizes of the jury in the following categories: Best National Feature Film, Best International Feature Film, Best Documentary Short Film, Best Short Film Animation, and Best Short Fiction.
The Ecozine also has the Young Audience Award, chosen by 2600 students from Zaragoza, Pamplona and Andorra.
This year Ecozine will screen more than 80 films in some 21 places.
