Award-winning feature film ‘Transit Café’ has been set to air on ifilm English TV on May 04.
Written and directed by Kambuzia Partovi, the film will hit the air Saturday night at 22:00 GMT. It is also set to repeat the next day at 04:00, 10:00 and 16:00 all GMT times.
The film narrates the story of Reyhan who has recently lost her husband and must make a living for her children and herself as well, so she reopens her late husband’s road café. It is not customary for a woman to run such a business alone without the help of a man.
Nasser, her brother-in-law offers to marry her and save her from the embarrassment of the new situation; an offer that Reyhan denies. Now she must wait for some villainy directed at her from Nasser.
Playing the role of Reyhan bought Fereshteh Sadr-Orafaei the Best Actress in a leading role award from the 23rd Fajr Film Festival in Iran.
The same film event recognized Kambuzia Partovi as the winner of the Best Screenplay award.
‘Transit Cafe’ has also won several nominations and awards from international film events, including 2007 Dhaka International Film Festival.
Also, among the cast of the film is Parviz Parastouee, who has been in a number of works such as ‘Under the Blade’ and ‘Bodyguard’ which have been aired by ifilm.
