Iran’s ‘Orange Days’ to go on screen at SIFF

Iran’s ‘Orange Days’ is to appear on screen at the Seattle Int’l Film Festival in the US.

Directed by Arash Lahouti, Iran’s ‘Orange Days’ has been selected to appear on screen at the 2019 Seattle International Film Festival (SIFF).

‘Orange Days’ is planned to go on the SIFF screen on May 20, 22 and 24.

The film narrates the life of a woman, Aban, who does her most to win in a competition in which men are her rivals. Orange farming is a man's world job, but this doesn’t stop her.

First, she was employed as a seasonal worker, but after a while, she could run her own all-female company. She faces big challenges in her work that affect her marriage too.

The flick stars Hediyeh Tehrani, Ali Mosaffa and Mehran Ahmadi, among others.

The movie brought Tehrani the Best Actress award at the 2018 CineIran Festival in Canada and won three awards at the 67th Mannheim-Heidelberg International Film Festival in Germany.

The SIFF is an annual event which has been held in the US city of Seattle, Washington, since 1976.

Each year, the 25-day festival hosts around 140,000 people, presenting more than 400 features, short films, and documentaries from more than 85 countries around the world.

This edition of the SIFF is slated for May 16-June 9, 2019.
