Iranian ‘Appendix’ to be screened in Spain

Iran’s ‘Appendix’ is to go on screen at the 18th Imagineindia Film Festival in Spain.

Directed by Hossein Namazi, Iranian feature ‘Appendix’ has been scheduled to go on screen at the 18th edition of the Imagineindia Film Festival (IFF) in Spain.

The flick has won the Best Screenplay award at the 47th Montreal World Film Festival in Canada.

‘Appendix’ is about a couple named Reza and Zari. Reza takes his wife Zari to the hospital, where she is diagnosed with appendicitis. She must be prepped for an appendectomy; however, her insurance ID has expired and they are forced to borrow her friend Leila’s ID.

Eventually, she undergoes the surgery using Leila’s ID and the staff at the hospital suspect of wrongdoing in this matter. Due to such situation, they are forced to switch roles to convenience hospital staff that the ID belongs to Zari. However, many unfortunate events take place in the process.

The movie’s cast includes Anahita Nemati, Amir-Ali Danaee, Reza Akbarpour, Pardis Manouchehri, Marjan Momeni, and Mohammad-Ali Kiani.

The 18th edition of the IFF is scheduled for May 17-31, 2019.
