Iran short ‘A Private Meeting’ to go on screen in Australia, Mexico

Iranian ‘A Private Meeting’ is to go on screen in Australia and Mexico film festivals.

Directed by Farhad Gharibi, ‘A Private Meeting’ has been selected to go on screen at the eighth edition of Mexico’s Hidalgo Film Festival and fifth edition of Australia’s Phoenix Film Festival.

The short narrates the story of a young woman whose husband is in jail. The woman who has a little girl has to work to make money for their living. She doesn’t accept to earn money by doing illegal jobs. So, she makes another plan to meet their needs.

The short film has recently taken part at the 37th Fajr International Film Festival in Tehran. It has already participated at Trenton and Newport Beach film festivals in the US.

Hidalgo Film Festival is a stage for national and international filmmakers to gather together in Mexico. The festival grants the TENANGO award which is given to the most outstanding works. The eighth edition is slated for June 24-29, 2019.

The Phoenix Film Festival accepts films with artistic merit and scope. The festival’s goal is to give new opportunities to independent filmmakers, actors, and scriptwriters. The fifth edition of the festival is slated for June 2, 2019.
