Star of the ifilm series ‘Father’, Mehdi Soltani, has sung live during a TV show.
Soltani attended the popular Iranian TV show ‘Khandevaneh’ and sang a sad song.
The song’s English translation:
“I became lonely in this world
I became a lonely herb in the middle of the desert
Like a madman fleeing from people
I hastily went after Leila
I laugh in vain, I weep vainly
Why I disappointedly became infamous
Why I fell in love, became lovelorn
I know the long-known; I know the sweet-gesture
The love between us was a blessing by God, as a result I know God
Happy the day that this world comes to an end; the hereafter rises
I’ll go to the Devine justice to ask when a lover’s wish may come true
I laugh in vain, I weep vainly
Why I disappointedly became infamous
Why I fell in love, became lovelorn”
Born in 1971, Mehdi Soltani-Sarvestani has a BA in Acting from Tehran University, a Master’s in Directing from Tehran University and a PhD in Theater from the Avignon University of France.
