‘Godzilla: King of the Monsters’ has not succeeded to attract the attention of cinemagoers, selling far from expectations.
Bad luck hit ‘Godzilla: King of the Monsters’, in comparison with its predecessors, and the flick faced defeat at the American box office.
According to Variety online magazine, the third entry in Warner Bros. and Legendary’s MonsterVerse opened with a middling $49 million at the domestic box office, a start well below 2014’s “Godzilla” ($93 million) and 2017’s “Kong: Skull Island” ($61 million).
The return of the flick to the cinema screens was not successful at all. With regard to the high expenses, the question is whether making of the sequels should be continued or not.
"Members of the crypto-zoological agency Monarch face off against a battery of god-sized monsters, including the mighty Godzilla, who collides with Mothra, Rodan, and his ultimate nemesis, the three-headed King Ghidorah. When these ancient super-species-thought to be mere myths-rise again, they all vie for supremacy, leaving humanity's very existence hanging in the balance," a short synopsis of the flick reads.
