Paris screening Iranian feature ‘Hattrick’

Iranian feature ‘Hattrick’ is being screened at the 7th Cinemas d’Iran in France.

Iranian feature ‘Hattrick’ directed by Ramtin Lavvafi has kicked off screening at the 7th edition of the Cinema(s) d’Iran (Iranian Film Festival) in France.

The 84-minute feature starts with Lida and her husband, Farzad, attending a party where they see their friend Keyvan and his new friend Raha.

On the way back home, the four in Farzad’s car have an accident but a question mark hangs over whether they have hit a person or an object.

The next setting is Raha’s home where she lives alone. The friends being in that house together is the beginning of many mysteries to unravel.

“A dull quote says people do not change overnight as we fail to look at them every so often,” a brief synopsis of the film reads.

‘Hattrick’ once limitedly went on screen in China during the 21st Shanghai International Film Festival. Then the film has been translated and dubbed into Chinese language and had a successful screening season across China.

The film has also gone on screen at Greek cinema halls from February, 2019.

The 16th Chennai International Film Festival in India, the 17th Dhaka International Film Festival in Bangladesh, the 2019 Las Palmas de Gran Canaria International Film Festival in Spain, and the 2019 Seattle International Film Festival in the US are among the festivals that screened the movie.

Cinema(s) d’Iran is an association created by Iranian, French and Franco-Iranian students.

The association aims to improve the understanding of Iranian culture in France. The association’s official goal is to “put in place cultural manifestations to initiate dialogues.”

The 7th edition of the program has been slated for June 12-18, 2019 at Arthouse theatre Le Nouvel Odeon in Paris, France.
