Directed by Mohsen Mehri, the short ‘Sluggish Life’ has succeeded to garner Italy’s 2019 Fuori Mercato – Como Independent Film Festival- Best Short Award.
The short is produced by the Qazvin Youth Cinema Association along with Moein Takrousta and Alireza Rahimzadeh.
The 11-minute short narrative’s synopsis reads: “A man lives alone in a dark house between millions of eggs; he wants to call someone but he does not succeed until the phone rings...”
Mehri’s short has attended some international film events, including the 2018 Tirana International Film Festival in Albania, the 2018 Izmir Short Film Festival in Turkey, the 2018 Tehran International Short Film Festival in Iran, the 2019 Watersprite International Student Film Festival in the UK, the 6th Chennai International Short Film Festival in India, and the 9th Queens World Film Festival in the US.
Fuori Mercato aims to support independent filmmakers. The goal is to give these new filmmakers the opportunity to present their films to the international audience.
