'On the Way to Zayandeh Rood' star talks with ifilm

'On the Way to Zayandeh Rood' star shares thoughts on acting career in an ifilm report.

In an ifilm report, 'On the Way to Zayandeh Rood' star Hossein Mahjoub shares thoughts on what he likes to experience most in his acting career.

He said through the ifilm lens that "as an actor, I’d very much like to take a trip down the unknown," adding he prefers to take on roles that are not clear-cut.

As for the reason to have such passion for the unknown, the actor of many other ifilm series such as 'House of Outsiders' as well as internationally acclaimed 'The Color of God' said, "I try to be in search of the unknown as much as I could to come up with something that might be worthy."

What the actor says about the unknown could imply he took up many roles in movies and series themed around spirituality with the very same intention.

'The Color of God' and 'On the Way to Zayandeh Rood' are two cases in point where the actor appears in roles highlighting how humans can be a forgiver or sustainer just like how we were preached to behave in all religions.

Mahjoub has been nominated for several awards from different film festivals for his appearance in ‘The Last Act’ (1990), ‘I'm Taraneh, 15’ (2001), ‘Big Drum under the Left Foot’ (2004), and ‘We’re Still Alive’ (2008).

He won five awards from some Iranian and foreign festivals for his appearance in ‘The Color of God’ (1997), including the Crystal Simorgh of the Best Actor in a Leading Role at the International Fajr Film Festival.
