'Dark Intelligence' actor reveals 55 lb weight gain to media

In a media interview, actor of ifilm series 'Dark Intelligence' reveals he had to gain a lot of pounds for his performance.

In a media interview, actor of ifilm series 'Dark Intelligence' Payam Dehkordi, reveals he had to gain a lot of extra pounds for his role in TV series.

The actor disclosed in the talk that his role in new TV series titled 'Gando' was a real challenge for him as he "had to put on more than 55 lbs".

'Zero Degree Turn’’s Dehkordi played the role of a real-life spy in a new series themed around intelligence and national security.

He added, “I was somewhat on the heavy side before playing the role, but in the first meeting with director Afshari” the actor learnt that he needs to go for a drastic change in appearance.

The actor, however, noted, “Mimicking the accent of the spy was much more difficult than the weight gain.”

Dehkordi speaks other languages in his new performance and in response to a query on whether he speaks foreign languages, he said, “I do not speak English and French very well and I cannot talk very fluently. To do this in the series, I had a behind-the-scene language trainer that worked a lot of on my accent.”

‘Gando’ directed by Javad Afshar is named after Iran's short-muzzled crocodiles known for their patience and tenacity.
