A brand new behind-the-scenes footage from Nima Javidi’s latest flick ‘The Warden’ has been unveiled.
The film is currently one of the best selling box office flicks in Iranian cinema, second to Narges Abyar’s ‘Night of the Full Moon’, with both films breaking a streak long held by comedy flicks.
Although there were not many filming locations in the production of ‘The Warden’, the film had plenty of visual variations which caused many delays and complications in the production process.
Produced by Majid Motalebi, the film’s storyline is centered on an old prison in 1960s Iran which is in the process of being evacuated in order to make room for an airport expansion project.
The head of the prison, Major Nemat Jahed and his officers are in the midst of transferring the prisoners to the new facility when they realize one of the prisoners is missing.
Navid Mohammadzadeh, Parinaz Izadyar, Atila Pesyani, Setareh Pesyani, Habib Rezaee, and Mani Haqiqi are among the film’s cast.
Premiering on the opening day of the 37th Fajr Film Festival, Javidi’s flick received seven nominations at the festival including second place for the Audience Favorite Film award while winning the festival’s Special Jury Award.
