The 42nd edition of the Elche International Independent Film Festival (FICIE) in Spain has been screening five titles from Iran.
The Iranian titles vying at the Spanish event are ‘Tears of Rain’, ‘CycLove’, ‘Win & Lose’, ‘In Perspective’, and ‘The Window’.
Directed by Esmaeel Abbasi, ‘Tears of Rain’ depicts confrontation between man, animal and nature.
Made by Seyyed-Emad Karimifard, ‘CycLove’ tells the story of a young boy who is struggling to come back to his mistress. But at the end of the way, he is incapacitated and tired, and then he looks at his past. At the end, the girl returns.
Directed by Mohammad-Sadeq Hosseinpour, ‘Win & Lose’ is about two boys from two countries which are involved in a war. They are playing volleyball behind the barbed wire. Days pass and they play together. When one of them breaks his leg, his friend finds out that he has an artificial foot. The boy goes away with a broken leg. At the end of the way, he realizes that his friend has put something on the wire. When he approaches, he sees that the artificial leg is hanging on the wire. So they realize that both of them had suffered the war.
Made by Arshia Zeinali, ‘In Perspective’ is a psychological drama about human beings in an inappropriate place and time.
Directed by Hamid-Reza Saket, ‘The Window’ is about a boy who suddenly decides to celebrate his birthday.
The FICIE is the 12th oldest in Spain. Its main objective is to offer a cultural space to filmmakers and moviegoers.
It is a constant commitment to the promotion of culture and supporting the emerging values of cinema, focusing on innovation, public conversation with the authors and the elimination of technological compete when barriers and vote.
The 42nd edition of the FICIE has been slated for July 19-26, 2019, in the Spanish city of Elche.
