ifilm exclusive report on Iranian feature ‘Boarding Pass’

ifilm English TV has published an exclusive report on Iranian Feature ‘Boarding Pass’ directed by Mehdi Rahmani.

ifilm has interviewed the producer Bahman Kamyar, the set and costume designer Vida Roshani, the actor Mansour Shahbazi, the actress Neda Jebraeeli, and the director.

‘Boarding Pass’ is about body packers that swallow pre-packaged drugs willfully or under duress to transfer them across the borders.

They usually carry opium, heroin, cocaine or amphetamine sealed in layers of plastic wrap in their stomachs for smuggling.

The story begins when a package is not sealed properly and starts leaking in the stomach of a body packer.

Then the dying process starts with dilated pupils, slower breathing, ruptured intestines, and finally heart failure.

In addition to Shahbazi and Jebraeeli, Mohammad-Ali Najafi, Asghar Rafiee-Jam, Tala Motazedi, and Shirin Yazdanbakhsh are notable among the cast of the 88-minute movie.

The title made it to the official selection at the 33rd Warsaw International Film Festival in Poland and won three awards at the 2019 Queen Palm Film Festival in the US.
