With his status as a lead actor in ‘Snorkel’, Kaveh Sammak-Bashi speaks to ifilm about his fear of the role in our weekend pick.
To Sammak-Bashi, the role he portrayed was so huge that put him in fear. “When a film character is a real-life martyr, it’s like walking on a rope. You might fall down if you lose your balance. If you wouldn’t be able to play the role well, there would be a huge burden on your shoulder.”

He then adds, “I felt a heavy burden during the film shoot; even up until the last scene. I just wanted to have a clear conscience when I am done and heading home. To say myself that I did my best to very well portray the best of the character; and it was all I could do.”
Sammak-Bashi plays the role of Younes who is the commander of the battalion. Younes has to surrender himself in order to save his comrades’ lives. Now, after almost 30 years, some information has surfaced that shows Younes might be alive.
