When the dawn breaks on August 17, 2018, Iranian cinema lost a maestro whose acting talent had been light a torch to brighten the pathway many other actors took to their way to success. His demise is a great loss for Iran cinema.
A ceremony has been set to be held to pay homage to the late star on his first demise anniversary on August 17. The venue for the event is announced to be the Cinema Museum in Tehran.
In the video attached to this piece of news, a number of ifilm stars have eulogized the late artist. Jahangir Almasi and Fakhreddin Seddiq-Sharif are two of such actors who are in the clip. ‘The Forbidden Fruit’ star Ali Nasiriyan takes it to a more intimate layer and mentions how old his friendship with Entezami was.
Born in 1924, Entezami took his debut role in Dariush Mehrjouee’s ‘The Cow’ which received a Golden Hugo from the Chicago International Film Festival in 1971. We have seen many memorable roles brought to life by him since then.
