‘Lady Major General’ to air on IRIB

The new Iranian series ‘Lady Major General’ is scheduled to appear on the small screens.

The series directed by Parviz Sheikh-Tadi is slated to broadcast on the Iranian national television IRIB starting from Tuesday, August 20, 2019.

The historical series depicts a female heroic figure of Bakhtiari ethnic descent in Iran.

The lady called Bibi Maryam Bakhtiari was at the forefront of the fight against British imperialism. She is known as an Iranian woman of courage who picked up the gun along with her family for Iran independence.

Iranian actress Pantea Sirous was picked out to feature the female leading role of the series as she knew horse riding and fencing.
