Iran ‘Lantouri’ grabs award at Istanbul Independent filmfest

Iranian movie ‘Lantouri’ has won award at Istanbul Independent Film Festival, Turkey.

Iranian movie ‘Lantouri’ has won an award at the 16th Istanbul Independent Film Festival in Turkey.

Director of the film Reza Dormishian won the award for the most inspiring director of the year at the Inspired section of the festival.

Directed by Reza Dormishian, the movie narrates the story of a young man who falls in love with a young woman and a thwarted passion causes trouble for the girl.

Navid Mohammadzadeh, Maryam Palizban, Baran Kosari, Mehdi Kooshki, Behrang Alavi and Bahram Afshari starred in ‘Lanturi’.

Istanbul International Independent Film Festival was founded in 2002 and every February and March, it hosts some 80,000 film buffs and celebrated filmmakers from around the world.

Dedicated to showcasing the best in contemporary film, the event believes that the shared experience of cinema is a form of activism that has the power to connect people across borders and boundaries of all description.
