Directed by Marzieh Riahi, Iranian short film ‘Driving Lessons’ has grabbed the Best Short Drama Award at the 2019 “I Will Tell” (IWT) international film festival in the UK.
The film’s synopsis reads “Bahareh must have her traditional chauvinistic husband accompany her during driving lessons so that she and her instructor are not left together without a third party’s presence”.
The short has competed at some global events, including the Tampere Film Festival in Finland, the Cartagena Film Festival in Colombia, the Tribeca Film Festival in the US, and the Edmonton International Film Festival in Canada.
The cast includes Linda Kiani, Alireza Sanifar, Salar Khamseh, and Sanaz Mesbah.
The IWT is a festival to showcase powerful stories of transformation. It focuses on the films which depict heroes who overcome adversities.
This edition of the festival, hosting works from more than fifty countries, was held from August 30 to September 9, 2019, in London.
