Iranian ‘Umbra’ to go on Italian Sedicicorto screen

The 16th Sedicicorto Int’l Film Festival is to screen Iranian short ‘Umbra’.

The 16th edition of the Sedicicorto International Film Festival in Italy has scheduled to screen Iranian short ‘Umbra’.

Directed by Saeed Jafarian, ‘Umbra’ is about a young woman who realizes a few minutes after midnight that she is alone. Worried, she goes out in the darkness of the streets.

It took part at the Cinéfondation section of the 71st Cannes Film Festival, the 2018 Vila do Conde film festival in Portugal, the 17th Silhouette Film Festival in France, and the 42nd Toronto International Short Film Festival in Canada.

The Iranian short film also went on screen at the 2018 Batumi International Art House Film Festival in Georgia, the 16th Golden Apricot Yerevan International Film Festival in Armenia, the 2019 Rhode Island International Film Festival in the US, as well as the 37th Uppsala International Short Film Festival in Sweden.

Furthermore, ‘Umbra’ was screened at the 27th St. Louis Film Festival in the US, the 14th MEDFILM Festival in Italy, the 2019 Kyiv International Film Festival "Molodist" in Ukraine, the 2019 Seattle International Film Festival in the US, the 8th Mikrofilm Short Festival in Spain, and the 25th Palm Springs Film Festival in the US.

Launched in 2004, the Sedicicorto is held every year in October in the Italian comune of Forlì.

The event aims at offering visibility to young authors and presenting an opportunity of meeting and exchanging among film industry professionals.

The 16th Sedicicorto is slated for October 4–13, 2019.
