'Mohey' reflects societal concerns: Director to ifilm

Iranian director Davoud Khayam says his film 'Mohey' is made for people who are concerned about societal issues.

Iranian director Davoud Khayam says in an ifilm exclusive his film 'Mohey' is a good fit for those viewers caring about social issues.

“My film is one of those which need someone who is concerned about their society” and made for people who are concerned about societal issues, the director said in the interview.

The word ‘Mohey’ literally means an angel that has come down to earth to eliminate all malice,” Khayam noted.

The film is a social drama starring Iranian actress Ana Nemati, who chose the role because the character was different and characterized well in the screenplay.

“We can find many characters like Mohey” both in the past and present, Nemati also said.

The film discusses social issues in Iran from the lense of the director, who “decided to make a specific genre based on personal ideology and background.”
