Iranian documentary ‘Simulation of Mr. Yellow’ is currently being screened at the 20th edition of the Calgary International Film Festival in Canada.
Produced in 2019, the 17 minute short documentary was written, directed, and produced by independent Iranian documentary filmmaker Mahan Khomamipour.
The short film depicts the story of an elderly man who dresses in yellow and lives alone in the war torn city of Aleppo, Syria.
While everyone in town knows the man in yellow, very few people are familiar with the traumatic story of his life.
Coming off of a recent screening at the Visions du Reel International Film Festival in Switzerland, the short documentary is Khomamipour’s fifth film as a director.
Celebrating its 20th anniversary, the Calgary International Film Festival is a 12-day event showcasing over 200 feature-length and short films in various genres from over 50 countries around the world including Canada.
The festival is currently under way with the closing ceremony set for September 29.
