The Tehran animation festival held 640 show times and screened 480 films, with 18 professional meetings, two books and five bulletins, said Mohammad-Reza Karimi Sarami, festival director.
The national section of the festival had 935 projects out of which 536 were chosen. Jury members selected 228 animation projects, motion graphics and feature films with themes like religion, student projects and values of the Islamic Revolution.
The international section had 1,163 project submissions from 79 countries, out of which 823 were chosen.
“As you already know, the festival ranks very well on the international scene. The presence of foreign animations shows this vividly,” said Naser Gol-Mohammadi, jury member.
Statistics showed that 10,000 people watched the professional meetings.
Jury members included Gol-Mohammadi, Ami-Hossein Nedayee, and Amir Sahar-khiz, among others.
The 10th Tehran International Animation Festival is held biennially, and this year’s edition was sponsored by the Institute for the Intellectual Development of Children Young Adults.
