Iran cinema faces growth in viewership, sales

Iran cinema has witnessed significant growth in viewership and sales in the first half-year of 2019 compared to the same period last year.

According to a report released by Iranian Organization of Cinema and Audiovisual Affairs, 15 million and 590 thousand viewers have gone to cinemas during January- June 2019 which indicates a significant growth in viewership when compared to the previous year.

Cinemas in Iran have also faced 23 percent increase in box office revenue in the first six months of this year compared to the same period last year.

Box office revenue in Iran has risen to 178,368,647,000 Rials in 2019 which shows 23 percent gross increase.
