Iran stages impressive ritual performance on Ashura

Iranian artists have been staging impressive number of ritual performances in Tehran and other cities themed on Imam Hussein’s (AS) martyrdom.

 In 2019, just like the previous years at this time around, Iranian traditional and ritual theaters are underway across the country.

Most theater plays staged in the country during Islamic lunar months of Muharram and Safar are themed on the third Muslim Imam.

One of the most impressive performances ‘Lonelier than Messiah’ by Hassan Bazra was staged Thursday with a group of 150 artists including main and background actors.

The play was performed within a vast area of Tehran’s Velayat Park. Last year, the performances of the play on an arena stage were warmly welcome by the audiences.
