Int’l media highlights Iran ‘Battle of the Persian Gulf II’

Mainstream media focuses on Iranian animation ‘Battle of the Persian Gulf II’ describing various features of such well-made production.

Mainstream media turns the spotlight on Iranian animation ‘Battle of the Persian Gulf II’ depicting confrontation of Iran with US forces in the region.

“An Iranian film shows the US Navy being destroyed by missiles in the [Persian] Gulf, tearing American flags from their masts,” a Western media outlet wrote about the animation, adding a film’s character inspired by Major General Qassem Soleimani, the commander of the IRGC's Quds Force, “leads a single vessel against … American warships.”

Another international new outlet’s title about the animation read, “Iran blows US Navy's 5th Fleet out of the water in animated film.”

The “Battle of the Persian Gulf II” depicts Iran’s response to a US attack, director Farhad Azima was quoted as saying by the media reports on the feature length animation.

The animation, screened weeks ago in the Iranian holy city of Mashhad, shows the wide range of “Iran’s weaponry and military tactics” to “act as a deterrent,” he noted, adding, “If one bullet is fired by the enemy toward Iran, we will respond firmly.”

‘Battle of the Persian Gulf II’ is the sequel to an animation about the 1980s Iraq-Iran war and was awarded at Ammar Popular Film Festival based in the country.
