Iranian live-action animated film ‘Mobarak’ directed by Mohammad-Reza Najafi-Emami has joined the list of films to be screened during Nowruz in Iran.
Produced by Ali Najafi-Emami, ‘Mobarak’ will continue its screenings that started before Nowruz on February 26, during the holidays for the new Persian calendar Year.
‘Mobarak’ tells the story of mythical characters taken from Persian poet Ferdowsi’s ‘Shahnameh’ (Book of Kings). Elnaz Shakerdoust is a lead star of the movie.
Other films that have been confirmed to screen during Nowruz include: ‘Patrol 2’ directed by Saeed Soheili, ‘Midday Event’ directed by Mohammad-Hossein Mahdavian, ‘The Good, the Bad and the Frivolous’ directed by Peyman Qasemkhani, ‘Abajan’ directed by Hatef Alimardani and ‘One Special Day’ directed by Homayoun Asadian.
The Persian New Year, Nowruz, starts with the beginning of spring in Iran, where people hold ceremonies for the onset of the season. This year, Nowruz starts on March 21, 2017.
