‘Factor 8’ actress talks on Arbaeen walk

Iranian actress appearing in many ifilm series shares feelings and lessons from her past Arbaeen walk.

Iranian actress Fariba Naderi appearing in many ifilm series shares old memories and lessons from Arbaeen walk as ritual to commemorate the martyrdom of Imam Hussein (AS).

‘Factor 8’ and ‘The Forgotten’ actress said in an interview with the local media, “I attended the Arbaeen walk in 2015 and will do the same if I have the privilege to visit Imam Hussein’s (AS) holy shrine.”

“I had this dream of going to Karbala from childhood … Being in Karbala is an experience you should just have on your own. It is a world that you can only see by returning to your own self deep inside.” She added.

Feeling so proud of being among those performed the Arbaeen walk ritual, she noted, “I hope to gain this opportunity again to go on this journey.”

As for the memories and lessons she picked up, the actress said, “I normally keep memories to myself as they are my inner feelings. However, this journey is most concerned with learning lessons … Making sacrifices and efforts to reach holy and elevated objectives are the concepts ever etched in my mind.”

Millions of pilgrims, including a record number of Iranians, have gathered in Iraq’s holy city of Karbala to commemorate Arbaeen, the 40th day after the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Hussein, the third Shia Imam.

Among the pilgrims from around the world every year, many arrive in Karbala after trekking about 70 kilometers northward from the holy city of Najaf in a symbolic gesture honoring Imam Hussein (AS).

Imam Hussein is a highly-venerated figure not only among Shia Muslims but also among Sunnis and people of other faiths. Here are some photos revealing this fact:
