‘Under the Blade’ casting details revealed

Scriptwriter for memorable ifilm series ‘Under the Blade’ reveals interesting details on casting of main actors.

Ali-Akbar Mahloujian said to local media that, “When penning the script was done, director Honarmand just had Parviz Parastouee in mind for playing the role of Mahmoud.”

“Later on, Parastouee read the script and agreed to take up the role,” he added.

“Professional actors never play for money and the script should have a solid foundation. Actors in the series saw how they fit in the story and then decided to join the cast,” the scribe noted.

About Jafar’s character played by Atila Pesiani, he said the characterization for the role was “done sweat so that his loss would not seem as a disaster.”

“The viewer does not want to see Mahmoud sent to the gallows and I didn’t like this happen either,” he said, concluding, "The director did a great job in finding the suitable ambience and presenting the characters. Some scenes were even well beyond my expectations."
