Poland’s Camerimage nominates Iranian cinematographers

The 27th Camerimage Int’l Film Festival in Poland nominates Iranian cinematographers.

The 27th edition of the Camerimage International Film Festival in Poland has nominated Iranian cinematographers Mohammad Haddadi and Aeen Irani to receive the Golden Frog.

Haddadi is nominated as the cinematographer of ‘A House for You’ directed by Mehdi Bakhshi-Moqaddam.

The title will be screened at “Image of the World and World in Images” section which is dedicated to documentary features. The section aims to recognize the art of documentary filmmaking as a creative interpretation of reality.

‘A House for You’ is a documentary about Davoud, a 30-year-old man in the northern Iranian province of Gilan, who has been diagnosed with advanced lung cancer. Bankrupted while it’s just one year after his marriage, his only dream is to build a house for his beloved wife.

Irani received nomination for the cinematography of ‘17 Hours’ directed by Pedram Nouri.

Entry to the Student Etudes Competition section, the title depicts the last moments of a ten-year-old girl named Julia, who has been trapped under debris from an earthquake in Italy for 17 hours.

The Student Etudes Competition supports the development of novice filmmakers and provides a unique opportunity to showcase the cinematic achievements of students from various parts of the world.

Organized in Torun, Poland, the Camerimage International Film Festival is the greatest and most widely recognized event dedicated to the celebration of cinematography and recognition of its creators and cinematographers.

At the end of November every year, the Camerimage brings together professional cinematographers, students and other people associated with the film industry. The Camerimage festival spans over a course of one week with multiple events.

The 27th edition of the Camerimage is slated for November 9-16, 2019.
