Iran short ‘Stair’ to vie at Izmir filmfest

Iranian short animation ‘Stair’ is to compete at the IISFF in Turkey.

Iranian short animation ‘Stair’ has been scheduled to compete at the Izmir International Short Film Festival (IISFF) in Turkey.

Siamak Vahed’s short will go on screen at the main section of the 20th edition of the Turkish event.

A brief synopsis for the short reads, “The candle flickers… I set out and found myself at the stairs”.

‘Stair’ has been created applying a Cel Animation or traditional 2D animation technique.

The animation experienced its first festival attendance earlier this month at the 6th ‘Prime The Animation’! New Talent International Festival in Spain.

The International Izmir Short Film Festival is the largest event of its kind in Turkey and the first to award prizes to international short films.

Since its inauguration, this has become one of the country’s most prestigious film festivals. The event draws many respected film figures from beyond Turkey’s borders.

The 20th edition of the IISFF is slated for November 4-10, 2019.
