Antalya Golden Orange Filmfest picks up Iran ‘Walnut Tree’

Iran-Turkey coproduction ‘Walnut Tree’ is to vie at the Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival in Turkey.

Iran-Turkey coproduction Walnut Tree has been shortlisted to vie at the Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival in Turkey.

Directed by Faysal Soysal, ‘Walnut Tree’ will take its chance at the Feature Film Competition section of the 56th edition of the Turkish screening event.  

The 123-min feature film, which is co-produced by Iran Farabi Cinema Foundation and Turkey-based Balkon Film Company, is about a man named Hayati who is a writer whose talent is getting shattered as well his married life.  

According to ifilm earlier reports, Iranian film ‘Castle of Dream’ by Reza Mirkarimi is also competing at the International Feature Film Competition section of the Golden Orange Filmfest.

A total of 66 films by 69 film directors from 29 countries are currently on screen at even different sections of the festival, including World Cinema, National Feature Film Competition, National Short Film Competition, National Documentary Film Competition, International Feature Film Competition, Golden Orange For Children and Special Screenings.

The Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival is one of the deepest-rooted festivals in Europe and Asia, and one of the oldest and the longest running film festivals in Turkey.

The festival, held annually since 1963, considers for selection feature films from Asia, Europe and Middle East countries.

The event, which was launched on October 26, 2019, will run until November 01, 2019 in Antalya.
