Tehran adorned with giant colored eggs ahead of Nowruz

Marking Nowruz, visual artists decorate Tehran with large colored eggs.

Marking the beginning of the Persian New Year, also known as Nowruz, visual artists have decorated Tehran with large colored eggs.

The Municipality of Tehran provided parks and large squares in the city with statues of giant white eggs and invited artist to paint or drew colorful design on them.

A large number of young visual artists welcomed the move by the Municipality of Tehran to inject vibrancy through cheerful shapes into the society.

Coloring eggs before and during Nowruz is an old Iranian tradition to welcome the New Year.

ifilm invites you to have a glance at some of these symbolic traditional artworks.

Wish I could see this wonderful project and meet the artists! We will resume our tours to Iran just as soon as visas are authorized for Americans again. Very soon, I hope!
