The director of 'Salaam Mumbai' says in an ifilm exclusive that the future of Iran Cinema depends on joint productions with other countries.

“The only way to save Iran’s movie industry is to produce joint projects... This movie [‘Salaam Mumbai’] will be screened in Iran, India, Pakistan, Arab countries and Scandinavian countries,” director Qorban Mohammadpour said in an exclusive interview with ifilm.

‘Salaam Mumbai’ features Mohammad-Reza Golzar and Indian actress Dia Mirza.

The film is the first joint production between the Iranian and Indian movie industries. Seventy percent of the crew is Indian and 90 percent of the dialogs are in English,” Golzar highlighted.

New technology was also implemented during the filming of the joint Iranian-Indian production, including the use of wireless time-synching between cameras.

Indian actress Dia Mirza who stars in the movie has been a popular figure in India Cinema.

‘Salaam Mumbai’ narrates the love story of a well-off Indian girl meeting an Iranian medical student in Mumbai. As the story unfolds, they both run into some complications along the way.
