The Aran Puppet Theater Group has opened a museum of its puppets during a celebration marking the National Day of Theater.
A number of theatrical figures, including Reza Babak, Marzieh Boroumand, and Zahra Sabri attended the opening ceremony on Monday.
The museum is situated on the second floor of Ferdowsi Hall in the Iranian capital city of Tehran.
The director of the Aran Puppet Theater Group Behrouz Gharibpour delivered a short speech at the opening ceremony and appreciated all his colleagues who helped him refurbish the location for the museum during the past few days.
“The museum will be unique, providing facilities for guests and visitors to watch the puppets and enjoy the special and significant designs of each puppet as well as the artistic creativity of the designers,” the director said earlier in October 2015.
Born in 1950, Gharibpour is an Iranian theater director and pioneer of traditional Persian puppet theater.

He has experienced writing and directorship in fields such as theater, puppet theater, cinema, documentary movies, and TV.
Gharibpour is mostly known for his solid research works on the Iranian puppetry as was commonly practiced during Qajar era.
