‘Trauma’ to attend NOX FILM FEST in Uruguay

Iran's ‘Trauma’ is to vie at the 5th NOX FILM FEST in Uruguay.

Iranian short film ‘Trauma’ has been set to attend the 2020 edition of the NOX FILM FEST, International Horror and Fantasy Film Fest of Salto, in Uruguay.

Written and directed by Hessam Dehqani, ‘Trauma’ will make its first international appearance at the 5th edition of the Uruguayan festival scheduled for next month.

The film will participate at the festival’s short film competition.

‘Trauma’ is inspired by a real crime which took place in the streets of Tehran. “No one hears your cries for help,” a synopsis for the film reads.

“Trauma is a short film about one of the darkest stories we hear almost every day. No matter where we live, it's an everyday violence, affecting close to a billion girls and women over their lifetimes. Based on statistics released by the UN, one rape happens every 120 seconds somewhere in the world,” the director said of the film, adding “Inspired by true events happened in the city I live, 'Trauma' shows how such event changes the victim's personality, forever.”

The film is starring Zohreh Naeemi and Alireza Mehran.

The 5th edition of the NOX FILM FEST, a fun cinematic experience, will be held on January 8-11, 2020.
