Iranian Taekwondo champion Hadi Saei talks about the struggles athletes face in the first behind-the-scenes footage from the film ‘Tsunami’.
The film which depicts the competitive challenges faced by athletes was directed by Milad Sadrameli and produced by Ali Sartipi.
According to the film’s caption, “An Iranian taekwondo athlete is so drowned in his sport activities and competitions that problems hit his personal life like a tsunami”.
Starring in the film are Bahram Radan, Mehrdad Seddiqian, Alireza Shojanouri, Amir-Mehdi Jule, Fereshteh Hosseini, Alireza Varzandeh, Amir Shariat, and Mohammad-Reza Ghaffari.
‘Tsunami’ premiered at the 37th annual Fajr Film Festival in February 2019 and began public screening in theaters across Iran on Christmas 2019.
Two-time Olympic champion Hadi Saei is an Iranian taekwondo athlete who also carries nine world class titles.
He also held a role in Manouchehr Hadi’s 2015 police series ‘Amen’ which was featured on ifilm.
