ifilm's Exclusive report from behind the scenes of ‘Jungle Restaurant’

The second season of the series 'Jungle Restaurant' is nearly ready for broadcast. Below is a transcription of ifilm's exclusive report on this animation.

ifilm: This is the second season of the series ‘Jungle Restaurant’ and it’s in the final stages of production.

The first season had 26 episodes, so does the second one. But here’s the good news; the second season has remarkable improvement in graphics compared to the first season.

Reza Hanafi, director: we had talks with the Saba Animation center and we agreed to produce the second season of the series. The management of the Saba Animation Center asked us to start the project.

We started 3-4 months before the Persian New Year and applied the necessary changes to the series.

Ali Jafary, technical director: In comparison to the previous season, we tried to improve the quality of the project. We had several reasons for it. We made great progress and gained experience in the past few years, so we can offer better quality animations; we expected more from ourselves.

Reza Hanafi: In fact the first series was successful, but for the second one, we’ve tried to raise the quality of the project.

Ali Jafary: We did a lot of research and surveyed many series with similar storyline and quality and we realized that based on our capabilities we can use some segments of foreign series and improve the quality of our work.

Reza Hanafi: That’s why we applied significant changes to the locations. We raised the level of the quality and brought the images closer to being real; still we didn’t want it to be too real. It’s an animation.

Sheyda Kashi, graphic designer: In the composite section we try to edit the files that we have received from the 3D group which have been rendered and have lower contrast levels so they have a low visual attraction. We use the software to boost up the color and contrast to make the files more attractive.

Since we’re working on a children’s project this helps make it more striking to them.

Ali Jafary: This project is like a factory production line; it starts from one point and ends in another. As the technical director I control the quality of the work, the technical issues, and I deal with the problems that may come up during the work. I don’t let the quality of the work fall below our standards.

Reza Mousavi, special effects: This series is being produced by 3D Studio Max software and this software has many plug-ins that help us.
