‘6 Underground’ ranks as Netflix most popular in Asia

Netflix has released lists of its most popular content in Asia with Peyman Maadi’s ‘6 Underground’ standing as a top hit.  

The list of top hits were selected by the audiences in Japan, Korea, India and Malaysia and the $150 million-budgeted ‘6 Underground’ by Michael Bay came in third, making it the most popular American content in the territory this year.

According to Netflix, the most-watched lists had been compiled by enumerating the number of accounts that had streamed at least two minutes of the content in question during its first 28 days on the platform in 2019.

It also came as a surprise that ‘The Irishman’ directed by Martin Scorsese has been ranked fifth on the list.

‘6 Underground’ is an action film starring Maadi along with Ryan Reynolds, Dave Franco and Mélanie Laurent  

Born in 1972, Maadi started his acting career in Asghar Farhadi’s ‘About Elly’ (2009). Since then, he has been in a number of award-winning movies such as ‘A Separation’ (2011) which won him Best Actor in a leading role from the Berlin International Film Festival.
