‘Once Upon a Time in Hollywood’, ‘1917’ win big at Golden Globes

The 77th annual Golden Globe Awards has announced full list of winners.

‘Once Upon a Time in Hollywood’ and ‘1917’ were named best comedy and best drama respectively at the 77th Golden Globes on Sunday.

‘Succession’ was honored as best television drama, while ‘Fleabag’ recognized as the top television comedy.

Olivia Colman’s leading performance in ‘The Crown’ and Laura Dern’s supporting work in ‘Marriage Story’ were also awarded at the event.

Other big winners included best foreign language honoree ‘Parasite’ from South Korea and ‘Chernobyl’ which was named best TV movie or mini-series.

‘Once Upon a Time in Hollywood’ was the big victor on the film front, earning three prizes, including awards for screenplay and for Brad Pitt’s supporting performance.

‘1917’ also picked up a director prize for Sam Mendes.

In another surprise, ‘Missing Link’ earned the award for best animated feature over blockbusters like ‘Toy Story 4’ and ‘The Lion King’.

Best actor in a drama winner Joaquin Phoenix was recognized for a comic book movie ’Joker’.

Renée Zellweger was honored as best actress in ‘Judy’, while ‘The Farewell’s’ Awkwafina picked up a best actress in a comedy prize.

‘Fleabag’ creator Phoebe Waller-Bridge also picked up a statue in the lead comedy actress category for her work in front of the camera.

Brian Cox nabbed best actor in a TV drama for his portrayal of a Machiavellian CEO in ‘Succession’. Russell Crowe was recognized for his portrayal in ‘The Loudest Voice’ as well.

Patricia Arquette also won award for best supporting actress in a miniseries or TV movie for ‘The Act’ and Michelle Williams bagged an award for her performance as best actress in a miniseries or TV movie.
