Soroush Sehhat’s debut feature has a tongue-in-cheek look at death, a review says.

Soroush Sehhat’s debut feature ‘Dance with Me’ has a tongue-in-cheek look at death, a review says, adding the theme of the flick seems to be a loose adaption of Woody Allen.

A rave review said about the on-screen Iranian flick, "'Dance with Me is Sehhat's first feature film as a director and in addition to helming the flick, he is the author of the screenplay that narrates his story with comedy and fantasy."

The piece notes, "The film has a spiritual theme challenging death in a humorous way, and in this regard, is closely related to Woody Allen's works," adding the flick is the mirror of the director's favorite films teamed with spiritual and nostalgic symbols.

The film that first screened at the 37th Fajr film Festival in Iran recounts the story of a man’s last birthday.

“Jahangir’s friends have gathered together to celebrate his birthday for one last time. The situation prompts them to reflect upon themselves and their lives”, reads a brief synopsis for the film.

Ali Mossafa, Javad Ezzati, Hanieh Tavassoli, Pejman Jamshidi, Siavash Cheraghipour and Mehrab Qasemkhani are among the cast members of the flick.
