Alireza Davoudnejad makes a turn to acting

Iran filmmaker Alireza Davoudnejad turns into acting with ‘Butterfly Swimming’.

‘Relatively Bad Guy’ director Alireza Davoudnejad has recently made a transition to acting with ‘Butterfly Swimming’.

The gritty filmmaker made his acting debut as a lead role in front of Mohammad Karet’s camera.

Davoudnejad, who has carved a niche with movies like ‘Ferrari’ and ‘Sweet Agony’, will costar with some big names in the industry, including Javad Ezzati, Anir Aqaee, Tannaz Tabatabaee, Pantea Bahram, Ali Shademan and Mahlaqa Baqeri.

“In the downtown, the butterfly swimming makes quite a splash,” reads as a brief synopsis of the social drama.

I'm Taraneh, 15 Years Old’ director Rasul Sadr Ameli has also worked in the project as the producer while Hussein Doumari, Pedram Pouramiri and Karet have been in charge of the script writing.

Alireza Davoudnejad is a writer and director, known for ‘The Need’ (1992), ‘Actors Studio ‘(2013) and ‘Khal’e selah’ (1993).  

Davoudnejad has also written the script for ‘The Mercenaries’ (1984), ‘The Plunder’ (1984), ‘Tornado’ (1985), ‘The Bride’ (1990), ‘Girl in a Cage’ (2002), ‘Octopus’ (2004) and ‘The Rival Wife’ (2005).
