Iran short film ‘The Balloon’ to vie at US festival

Iranian short film ‘The Balloon’ directed by Saeed Karimi has been scheduled to compete at a festival in the US.

The 4th edition of the Children's International Film Festival in Catawba County, North Carolina will screen Iran’s ‘The Balloon’.

The US event is slated for April 24-28 in North Carolina.

‘The Balloon’ is about two street children and some events they have to deal with.

The Children's International Film Festival is a showcase event to help expose school-age children to short films from around the world.

The festival selections are shown during a week's worth of events held at various locations across Catawba County, North Carolina, to students from across the county's three public school systems and several independent/private schools.

Each screening session is two hours in length. Last year, more than 3,000 school children saw the variety of films that were selected.
