Iranian Fajr Film Festival contender ‘Walnut Tree’ has published new poster.

The newly released poster for Mohammad-Hossein Mahdavian’s thought-provoking movie features Iranian mega-comedian Mehran Modiri in new looks.

The film retells the horrific story of using chemical weapons during the Iraqi imposed war on Iran. It shows how a man portrayed by Peyman Maadi tries to rescue his family when the prohibited bombs have fallen on their city, Sardasht, in the western region of Iran.

A tagline for the film reads, “It might be time for everyone to be informed about this story; a story that began next to this Walnut Tree”.

ifilm star of ‘Leila’s Loneliness’, Mina Sadati is also among the cast member of the film.

‘Walnut Tree’ will get its premiere on the third day of the Fajr film Festival on February 03.

Established in 1982, the Fajr Film Festival is an event that celebrates cultural exchange, displays creative achievements of highly acclaimed cineastes and pays tribute to local and international films.

Since its establishment, the Fajr Film Festival has played a vital role in the development of the Iranian Cinema.

Supervised by Iran’s Ministry of Culture, the festival hosts veteran directors and new filmmakers from Iran and across the world every year.

The 38th Fajr Film Festival kicked off on February 1, 2020 and will run till February 11 in Tehran.
