Directed by Mehrdad Khoshbakht, the film, which is currently screening at the main competition section of the 38th edition is the Fajr Film Festival, has been so far well-received by the event’s audiences. It has succeeded to be listed among the 8 movies that have been top-rated by the people.
‘Abadan 11 60’ is a narrative of Abadani’s cavalry during the Iraqi imposed war on Iran. The film also depicts how, back then at the war time, the crews of the city’s radio station stayed put at their work place to give people hope that the victory was so close. They did so under the fire of an unjust war.
Alireza Kamali-Nejad, Vida Javan, Hassan Majouni, Nader Soleimani, Hamid-Reza Mohammadi and Shabnam Goudarzi are among the cast members of the flick.
Established in 1982, the Fajr Film Festival is an event that celebrates cultural exchange, displays creative achievements of highly acclaimed cineastes and pays tribute to local and international films.
Since its establishment, the Fajr Film Festival has played a vital role in the development of the Iranian Cinema.
Supervised by Iran’s Ministry of Culture, the festival hosts veteran directors and new filmmakers from Iran and across the world every year.
The 38th Fajr Film Festival kicked off on February 1, 2020 and will run till February 11 in Tehran.
