Fajr fest ‘Atabai’ goes behind-the-scenes

New footage from behind-the-scenes of the Iranian feature ‘Atabai’ has been released, featuring the film’s composer.

Directed by award-winning actress and filmmaker Niki Karimi, the release came on the same day of the film’s premiere at the 38th edition of the Fajr Film Festival in Tehran.

Written by Hadi Hejazifar, the drama was filmed in the historic northwestern Iranian city of Khoy, last summer.

The footage features scenes from the villages of Khoy, along with the film’s music production featuring renowned musician and composer Hossein Alizadeh.

Alizadeh is a four-time recipient of the Fajr Film Festival’s Best Music award. He was also a three-time nominee at the Grammy Awards, including at the event’s 49th edition for the Best Traditional World Music Album award.

The cast includes the likes of Hadi Hejazifar, Javad Ezzati and Sahar Dolatshahi, among others.
