‘Cradle of Silence’ is to attend the 15th Myrtle Beach Int'l Film Festival in the US.

Iranian short film ‘Cradle of Silence’ is to attend the competition program of the 15th edition of the Myrtle Beach International Film Festival in the US.

Written and directed by Mostafa Mehraban, ‘Cradle of Silence’ narrates the life of a man named Rasoul who has to deliver a cradle to his martyred friend’s widow.

With Rasoul returning from the southern war zone to the northern part of the country, his wife Laya plans on going back to the war zone with him. Rasoul uses his friend’s belonging as an excuse not to accommodate his wife’s request.

‘Cradle of Silence’ recently won the Award of Merit for the best short film at the 11th edition of IndieFEST Film Awards in the US, held on February 4, 2020.

Mehraban’s short film has also attended several prestigious film events across the globe, including the 2019 Montauk Film Festival and the 5th Reading Film Festival in the US, as well as the 5th BangkokThai International Film Festival in Thailand

According to the official website of the event, the Myrtle Beach Int’l Film Festival aims to create a venue for independent filmmakers which is not corrupted by politics

The event has been granted several prestigious awards including one of the "Top 25 film festivals worth the entry fee" by Movie Maker Magazine.

The 15th edition of the Myrtle Beach will be held in South Carolina on April 21–25, 2020.
