German fest to host Iranian ‘Driving Lessons’

The Int'l Regensburg Short Film Week in Germany is to host Iranian short ‘Driving Lessons’.

The International Regensburg Short Film Week in Germany has scheduled to host Iranian acclaimed short ‘Driving Lessons’.

Directed by Marzieh Riahi, the award-winning short film will attend the International Competition section of the German event.

The 13-minute flick narrates the story of a young woman named Bahareh who must have her traditional controlling husband accompany her on driving lessons so she and her male instructor would not be alone. 

ifilm series ‘Warm Breath’ and ‘Until Being with Sorayya’ star, Linda Kiani, portrays the lead character of the flick.

‘Driving Lessons’ has so far attended a number of international events and won some awards including, the jury’s special award at the Film Festival for Women’s Rights in South Korea, the best short drama award at the “I Will Tell” international film festival in the UK and the best film award at the Religion Today Film Festival in Italy.

According to the official website of the International Regensburg Short Film Week the event will pay homage to the world of short films.

The latest edition of the event is slated for March 11-18, 2020.
