'Weightlessness' wins award at North Carolina Film Awards

Iranian feature film 'Weightlessness' has won award at the North Carolina Film Awards in the US.

Written and directed by Mehdi Fard-Qaderi, ‘Weightlessness’ succeeded to grab the Director’s Award at the American gala.  

‘Weightlessness’ is a multi-genre film with a feminine story and the story’s main events being centered on a wedding.

Produced by Morteza Shayesteh, the story begins the morning after a wedding ceremony when the groom disappears, not seen since the night before.

The bride, the groom's mother and sister, and some acquaintances, which came to the wedding uninvited, are looking for the reason for his disappearance. The next day, the group begins blaming each other as their relationships are put to the test.

Starring in the film are Bahareh Kian-Afshar, Amir-Ali Danaee, Nasim Adabi, Yasser Jafari, Jalal Fatemi, Sepideh Moradpour, and Tina Pakravan.

‘Weightlessness’ has already attended the 3rd Insolito: International Horror & Fantasy Film Festival in Peru and Bulgaria’s Sofia Menar Film Festival.

The flick is also picked to inaugurate the 4th edition of Love International Film Festival (LIFF) to be held in the US on September 2020.
